We got home today. The doctors basically discharged us stumped. We are going to follow up with a whole gamit of specialists in the next few weeks and hopefully set a plan for a diagnosis and treatment. We went up for an MRI and she had a series of seizures after her test. They thought it might have been the meds to sedate her but she had another seizure the next day and the meds would have been out of her system by then. They found a small abnormality in her brain blood flow but are not concerned about it. She's a conundrum at this point!
We'll be referred to a neurologist and an orthopedist here in town. We still have to go to Portland for her Urologist and GI team. Oh the joys of having a sick child!
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and well wishes. Knowing that I have those always gets us through the rough spots! I'll keep you all posted! Jenn
Literally here in Portland. We came up here for Chloe's MRI study and as we were leaving she started having seizures! So we headed back to OHSU and after 5 hours in the ER she was admitted to Doernbecher Children's Hospital for the night. They'll observe her for 12 hours and then we'll meet with the neurologist in the morning. Hopefully we'll be heading back home tomorrow but we'll see!
Thank HEAVENS my dear friend Audrey was here and came by the hospital to visit. It always helps to have a friend when you need a shoulder or a hug.
You know those days where you wake up and the first thought in your head is... ooooh... McDonald's breakfast! Today is one of those days. I don't have them very often... about once a month...teehee! So today I dropped the kids off at school and went to good ol' mickie D's for some grease, sugar and caffeine. Cinnamon Melts, hashbrowns and a Dr. Pepper later I feel like a sticky rock is sitting in my gut!
But oh... to satisfy a craving! I'm lovin' it!! ;)
That's right... I got a job! I've been working for about a week and love it! I'm teaching swimming lessons at a local children's sports facility. The staff there is great and I'm working out while working!! Gotta love it!
The neat part is they are incredibly flexable with me about going to appts for Chloe or sick kids, etc. They also have a great integrity about how the business is run and things are taught to the kids. I just LOVE it!!
Poor Chloe has another kidney infection!! I feel so bad for her!! She's in pain and has to take major antibiotics AGAIN!! We see the GI at the end of the month so hopefully we'll get some answers there so we can figure out what's going on with her bladder stuff!
Chloe's health issues have been escalting in the last couple weeks and we're now planning to go to Portland to see another specialist. She was hospitalized for 2 days last week and has to take some new meds. I'm grateful that her problems are not worse than they are but I really don't like seeing another one of my babies sick. Please keep her in your prayers while we're figuring out what's going on with her little system. THANKS!
This past Saturday I headed up a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Our relay for life team "pink ladies" hosted a "crop for a cure". We had GREAT vendors, goody bags, prizes, pizza lunch and treats throughout the day!!
The best part is that we were able to raise $200.00 for the American Cancer Society!!
Our Medford Relay for Life is coming up on June 2 & 3 at Speigelburg Stadium. Come on down and check out the fun!! This is a great event that works for a wonderful cause.
Chloe has been having some health issues for the past few months. Our pediatrician has referred us to a few specialists in Portland at the children's hospital there. So this weekend we're heading up to hopefully get an answer to all these problems she is having! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers as we help get her through all this craziness!
Tomorrow I'm leaving for a business trip to Utah. I am SO EXCITED! I get 3 whole days that is only about Shade. I'll miss Neil and the kids but I really an excited about this little non-break break.
I work for a company call Shade Clothing. We make beautiful shirts and dresses that are modest in cut and very fashionable. It's a great product to add to your wardrobe so you can feel comfortable in today's fashions. Check it out! www.shadeclothing.com
Tonight I was invited to Bunco as a sub for my friend Amy's bunco group. I've played before but always with a bunch of uptight old ladies! Tonight was a great evening with pleasant women who were all having a GREAT time!
The abundance of chocolate wasn't a bad thing either... :)
I'm so grateful to have friends that love to have fun! YAY BUNCO!
If you have never heard of Settlers of Catan you are missing out! It's a fun game of wit and strategy that you just can't stop playing!! We have some friends that we play with at least twice a month... sometimes twice a week!! We take turns at each others houses and bring the kids over in PJ's with a movie. They play and watch their movie and we "battle" for Catan... FUN FUN FUN!
We started with the orginal "Settlers of Catan" and also play "Seafarers of Catan" and "Cities and Knights" both expansions to original game. I don't know how the man that created these games came up with this concept but he is a genius!!
So I LOVE to bake! Anything really but I love to do cakes! I try to be inventive and creative with my cake making. Over the past year I've been trying new shapes and sizes... moving away from the tradition rounds and rectangles. Well eat your heart out Ace of Cakes! Here comes the Momma of Cakes!
Here are a few that I've done for birthdays. One for my son and one for my mother's 50th.
I can't believe that I have stepped into the rhelm of blogging!! I've always thought it was just a fad that would go away but I have come to learn that blogging is great way to just get it all out! So here I am.
